* The WSU Foundation invites students to the public unveiling of Shock the World: The Campaign for Wichita State University from 11 a.m.-noon today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in the commons area of Wilner Auditorium.

* Join the Cultural Ambassador Program on an adventurous tour to the "Giant of Africa: Nigeria" from noon-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in 261 RSC. Esther Alao's presentation highlights several facets of Nigeria that every curious mind must know, including history, culture and tourism, as well as challenges the country faces in the future.

* Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Wichita Police Department (WPD) and hear the experiences of police officers of color in the Brown Bag Diversity Discussion "Black, Brown & Blue, a Discussion with Police Officers of Color," from noon-1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in 266 RSC.

* The WSU College of Education is hosting its fall Ed Talk, featuring Yolanda Camarena, president of the Kansas Hispanic Education and Development Foundation board of directors. * To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a nonprofit movement whose mission is to present hope and find help for people who are struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA also exists to encourage, inform, inspire and invest directly into treatment and recovery. * University Libraries is hosting a workshop, "Writing a Literature Review," for all students from noon-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in 217 Ablah Library. * Chris Moon will present a one hour session on the ins and outs of paranormal investigation at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in the CAC Theater, sponsored by Student Activities Council (SAC). This event is free to WSU students with Shocker ID.

* Garba is a traditional Indian dance form performed in the state of Gujrat, India. AHINSA (Association of Hindu Students in America) is organizing Garba Night to celebrate the festival of Navratri from 7-11:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC. Admission is free.

* There have been reports that students have seen zombies roaming around campus. Help us defeat the dead by joining Human vs. Zombies at http://www.hvzsource.com/wsu. Register by Friday, Oct. 7.

* Attend the first meeting of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) campus chapter from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in 258 RSC. Participants in NAMI will discuss goals as an organization and get input from students on what we can provide for you.
