* The Lecture Series in the Mathematical Sciences presents professor Tracy Payne from Idaho State University at 3 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 7) in 372 Jabara Hall. Payne's topic is "Evolutionary Game Theory and Applications to Geometry." Come for refreshments before the lecture at 2:30 p.m. in 353 Jabara Hall.
* The Nepalese Student Association invites you to join them for an evening of food, fun and culture. Nepalese Culture Night while be hosted from 5-8 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 8) in Shocker Dining Hall. Your $8 entry fee includes traditional Nepalese food, cultural presentations and performances throughout the evening.
* The WSU volleyball team will host Loyola at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 7) and Bradley at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).
* Chris Moon will present a one hour session on the ins and outs of paranormal investigation at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 7) in the CAC Theater, sponsored by Student Activities Council (SAC). This event is free to WSU students with Shocker ID; $3 faculty/staff; $5 general admission and $1 for kids 12 and under.
* WSU is working with AACRAO Consulting on a strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan over the course of this year. The topic of the next SEM Workshop is Promoting Wichita State. * University Libraries is hosting a workshop, "Naming Your Business: Trademark Basics," from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in 217 Ablah Library. * WSU's Opera Theatre will celebrate Shakespeare's 400th anniversary with a comic operetta adaptation of "Much Ado About Nothing." * The Office of Academic Affairs, in collaboration with Student Involvement, is seeking applications from teaching faculty to serve as service-learning scholars for the 2016-17 academic year. The application deadline has been extended to Friday, Oct. 14. The Service-Learning Faculty Scholars program has been designed to empower committed service-learning faculty to cultivate and support interest in service learning in their fellow faculty members and through their classes and college.
