* The university's accreditation site visit is set for today (Monday, Oct. 10) and Tuesday, Oct. 11. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to meet with the site visit team. * The WSU Athletic Department and Shocker Volleyball want to show their appreciation of campus faculty and staff by offering free admission to all WSU faculty and staff who show their Shocker ID at the door to watch the Shockers take on the Southern Illinois Salukis at 7 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 10) at Charles Koch Arena.

* WSU Ventures and WSU are committed to increasing the number of SBIR/STTR applicants from Kansas. WSU Ventures, in collaboration with BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting, will hold a SBIR/STTR grant writing workshop from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, aimed at assisting applicants in writing a competitive proposal. * WSU will hold a free flu clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 18, in 266 RSC, as part of the state-sponsored flu clinics running now-Monday, Oct. 31. Register and find event information at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5094. Free flu shot clinics are available to members and spouses enrolled in the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) ages 18-65. * Do-it-yourself home improvement enthusiasts age 18-70 are needed to help the Software Usability Research Lab with a usability evaluation of a connected thermostat. If you are interested, take a few minutes to take the screening survey at http://surl.org/survey. If you qualify, you will be contacted by a representative of the Software Usability Research Lab to schedule a time to participate. Participants in the study will earn a $100 debit card for one and a half to two hours of their time. * The University Bookstore is taking orders for faculty and staff who need regalia for Fall 2016 Commencement. If you plan on purchasing regalia, CB Grad will be in the bookstore from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 12-13, to measure and take orders.

* WSU is working with AACRAO Consulting on a strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan over the course of this year. The topic of the next SEM Workshop is Promoting Wichita State.
