* The President's Diversity Council at WSU has planned the first diversity showcase, DiverseCity. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5077 and check out the remaining events.
* The WSU volleyball team hosts Loyola at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 7) and Bradley at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 8) in Charles Koch Arena.
* Chris Moon will present a one hour session on the ins and outs of paranormal investigation at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 7) in the CAC Theater, sponsored by Student Activities Council (SAC). This event is free to WSU students with Shocker ID.
* The Nepalese Student Association invites you to join them for an evening of food, fun and culture. Nepalese Culture Night will be hosted from 5-8 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 8) in Shocker Dining Hall. Your $8 entry fee includes traditional Nepalese food, cultural presentations and performances throughout the evening.
* Garba is a traditional Indian dance form performed in the state of Gujrat, India. AHINSA (Association of Hindu Students in America) is organizing Garba Night to celebrate the festival of Navratri from 7-11:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC. Admission is free.

* The Engineers Without Borders (EWB)-USA Wichita State chapter invites you to its fifth general meeting 6-7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 7) on the second floor, Devlin Hall.
* Student Government Association is accepting applications for At-Large Senator and Graduate Senator. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the SGA office, 219 RSC. Direct any questions regarding the positions to Taben Azad at sga.vice.president@wichita.edu.
* The Office of First-Year Programs is looking to hire new Transition Mentors to help welcome new students to Wichita State. Transition Mentors are student leaders who assist with summer orientation programs and serve as mentors to new students during the fall semester. We are looking for students who have a passion for WSU and would like to share their experience with new Shockers. For more information and to apply, go to http://www.wichita.edu/TM. Applications are available online now through Sunday, Oct. 30, with interviews in early November and training beginning in January.
* Student Involvement, in collaboration with the Innovation Fellows, will host the first TEDx Program at WSU on April 27, 2017. TEDxWichitaStateUniversity will feature students, staff, faculty and community members addressing the theme "Curiosity, Creativity and Connection." The planning committee is seeking potential student presenters for the program to speak toward their interpretation of the theme based on their college or life experience.
