Shocker Street Speak -- Shocker Food Locker

Student Government Association President Joseph Shepard is no stranger to hunger. As a child he and his family were homeless and he often didn't know where his next meal would come from. Stemming from his own personal experience, Shepard and former Chief of Staff Kiah Duggins spearheaded efforts on campus to create a food pantry for students, faculty and staff to use. Last year, the Shocker Food Locker was created in an effort to support the fight against hunger on our campus, and this month it moved to its brand new location in the Rhatigan Student Center. Shepard says the food locker is an innovative, student-driven solution to a problem that collegiate students face, not just at WSU, but nationwide.
