* WSU will hold a free flu clinic today (Tuesday, Oct. 18) in 266 RSC, as part of the state-sponsored flu clinics running now-Monday, Oct. 31. Register and find event information at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5094. Free flu shot clinics are available to members and spouses enrolled in the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) ages 18-65. * Unclassified Professionals are invited to attend the October UP Senate meeting from 9-11 a.m. today (Tuesday, Oct. 18) in 262 RSC.

* "10 Strategies for Improving Your Finances" is a webinar that discusses financial tips that can get you on the road to financial well-being during an economic climate that brings both challenges and opportunities from a financial perspective. It will air at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday, Oct. 18). The second webinar at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, "Managing Personal Finances" will discuss how to save money and live beyond paycheck to paycheck. * Understanding finance at WSU can be a challenge for budget officers and support staff. On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Lois Tatro will present WSU Finance 101. * The Academy for Effective Teaching is sponsoring a series of seminars on teaching. The next seminar will feature Don Nance, emeritus executive director of the Training and Technology Team (T3), presenting a seminar, "Lessons I Learned Teaching," at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in 156A Media Resources Center. GTAs, faculty and others interested in teaching are encouraged to attend.

* WSU will bring three candidates to campus for vice president for Student Affairs. Each candidate will participate in a series of interviews with constituent groups and make a public presentation open to the entire campus. The first candidate will be on campus Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 24-25, the second candidate Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27-28 and the third candidate Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 2-3.
