* The Academy for Effective Teaching invites GTAs, faculty and others interested in teaching to hear Don Nance, emeritus executive director of the Training and Technology Team (T3), present "Lessons I Learned Teaching," at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 20) in 156A Media Resources Center.

* Young Shocker Professionals is hosting its monthly Brown Bag lunch from noon-1 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 20) in 203 RSC, Lancelot Room. Bring your lunch and join us.

* The Office of Admissions is looking for table hosts for this year's Shocker Honor Scholars Banquet. This event recognizes the top 10 percent of high school juniors during an honorary banquet. * Finals are approaching and so is Finals Frenzy Week, Dec. 6-10. Finals Frenzy Week is all about giving students the opportunity to relieve stress from finals by participating in campus events. * Are you a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters? You're invited to learn more about Bigs on Campus, a new student organization at WSU. There will be two informational sessions from 6-6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in 313 RSC and 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in 313 RSC.

* Do you want to learn to help people? Mental Health First Aid is a free eight-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The next available workshop is Friday, Oct. 28, and additional dates are available throughout the semester.
