* The Career Development Center and WSU Graduate School will present "Thinking About Grad School?" from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 27) on the third floor, RSC. Students interested in going to grad school can attend a panel discussion from 11:15 a.m.-noon, followed by an information fair with WSU graduate departments from noon-1 p.m. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/TAGS
* The Office of Adult Learning is hosting a come-and-go open house to see their new location now to Friday, Oct. 28, at Grace Wilkie Annex. Students will be eligible to enter for a chance to win a $100 gift card to the University Bookstore. Everyone who comes by will have the chance to win daily prizes.
* The Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites faculty and staff to participate as observers at this year's Distinguished Scholarship Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 19. Observers are needed for two sessions. If you volunteer for the morning session, the time commitment is 7:30 a.m.-noon. In the afternoon, the time commitment would be about 1-5:30 p.m. Refreshments are included, as well as a short training session. * The Office of First-Year Programs is seeking nominations for next year's Transition Mentor staff. We are looking for exceptional students who are passionate about WSU and want to help welcome new students to our campus. Transition Mentors are responsible for transitioning students to WSU, beginning in the summer with orientation and mentoring new freshmen through the fall semester. Faculty and staff are encouraged to make nominations now through Sunday, Oct. 30, at wichita.edu/TM or email shareika.fisher@wichita.edu.
* Faculty and staff can easily access Office 365 from any location through the Office 365 icon in the upper right corner after logging in to myWSU. Students will also have access to this, plus a one click icon to reach their student email.
* The Wichita Thunder are excited for the upcoming WSU Night at Intrust Bank Arena at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. The Thunder are using a special group buying platform called Spinzo. The more people who join the promotion, the less each person pays, and no one is charged until the promotion is over. WSU faculty, staff and alumni can buy tickets in the VIP zone starting at $18 and as low as $12 after 300 people join. Go to https://wthunder.spinzo.com/wsualum for tickets. These tickets are $28 to the general public. WSU Night will include special music from local DJ, DJ Carbon. Each person who joins receives a special WSU Hockey puck, which will be delivered after the game because of time constraints.
