Reminders, deadlines and events

* The Career Development Center and WSU Graduate School will present "Thinking About Grad School?" from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 27) on the third floor, RSC. Students interested in going to grad school can attend a panel discussion from 11:15 a.m.-noon, followed by an information fair with WSU graduate departments from noon-1 p.m. Find out if grad school is right for you. * The French Honor Society is having a Halloween Bake Sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 26) on the first floor, Jardine Hall. Pricing is based on donations with proceeds to support the French Honor Society. The bake sale will feature such goodies as dipped pretzels, chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes, popcorn, fruit and cheese.

* Join Madrigal Singers and Women's Glee Club as they present their first concert of the year at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 27) in Wiedemann Hall. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5137 for tickets and more information. Admission is free for students with WSU ID.

* The Wichita Thunder will have WSU Night at Intrust Bank Arena at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. The Thunder are using a special group buying platform called Spinzo. The more people who join the promotion, the less each person pays, and no one is charged until the promotion is over. WSU students can buy tickets starting at $10 and as low as $3 after 100 people join. Go to https://wthunder.spinzo.com/WSU for tickets. These tickets are $20 to the general public. WSU Night will include special music from local DJ, DJ Carbon, and each person who joins receives a special WSU Hockey puck, which will be delivered after the game due to time constraints.

* WSU is participating in the National College Health Assessment. Random participants will be selected to receive an Xbox One, an iPad pro, a 50-inch TV and several $25 bookstore and QT gift cards. * Register for the 5th Annual Big Pink Volleyball tournament. All proceeds are donated to local charities that support breast cancer awareness. Teams must be five-to-seven players. The cost is $8/player, and that includes a T-shirt. If you register after today (Wednesday, Oct. 26) registration is $10/player. Registration forms, fees and liability waivers are due by 5 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 27) at Student Health Services, 209 Ahlberg Hall. * The Office of Adult Learning is hosting a come-and-go open house now to Friday, Oct. 28, at Grace Wilkie Annex. Students are invited to see their new location and enter for a chance to win a $100 gift card to the University Bookstore. Each day everyone who comes by will have the chance to win prizes.

* EWB (Engineers Without Borders)-USA Wichita State University Chapter will have its fall 2016 general meeting at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, on the second floor, Devlin Hall.
