Wichita Homeschool claims Kansas BEST titles
Kansas BEST is sponsored by Wichita State University's College of Engineering.
By winning the competition, Wichita Homeschool automatically qualifies for the regional competition at the Frontier Trails Regional Competition hosted by the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith at the Fort Smith Convention Center Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3.
Also qualifying for the regional competition are Andale High School, Homeschool of Johnson County, Philadelphia Christian Academy, Pike Valley High School and Salina South High School.
Andale finished second in the game competition and Salina South finished third.
Homeschool of Johnson County finished second in the BEST Award and Philadelphia Christian Academy took third.
The BEST Award is based on a project notebook, oral presentation, table display, interviews, and overall spirit and sportsmanship. The Game Award is based on the robot scoring points in the game competition.
