* Student Government Association is accepting applications for the following senator positions: engineering, education, veteran and graduate. Applications are due by 5 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 28) to the SGA office at 219 RSC. Contact Vice President Azad at sga.vice.president@wichita.edu with any questions.
* Join the Office of Student Money Management and learn tips on how to avoid being spooked by your finances. Stop by, play some games and win prizes this Halloween. "Don't Get Spooked by Your Finances" will start at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the RSC.
* New password requirements went into effect for WSU on Wednesday, Oct. 26. All passwords will be required to have one capital letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Additionally all employees will need to have completed IT Security Awareness training in the past year to update their password. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5147 for details.
* The Graduate School is pleased to announce that on Oct. 21, federal regulators issued new guidance on graduate assistant insurance subsidies. The updated guidance allows the practice to continue indefinitely, meaning WSU will continue to provide the Student Health Insurance Plan premium assistance as we do now for qualified graduate assistants. * University Libraries is hosting a workshop, "Planning for Success: Finding Facts to Support Your Business Plan," from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in 217 Ablah Library. For more information, go to http://libresources.wichita.edu/ers. Seats are limited, so sign up today.
* Celebrate Halloween by attending glow in the dark classes at the Heskett Center. Come to Yoga Flow or Cycle Fit from 12-12:45 p.m., Barbell Strength or PiYo from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and Zumba from 8-8:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, and get a glow bracelet to light up the room while you work out.
* The Wichita Thunder will have WSU Night at Intrust Bank Arena at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. The Thunder are using a special group buying platform called Spinzo. The more people who join the promotion, the less each person pays, and no one is charged until the promotion is over. WSU students can buy tickets starting at $10 and as low as $3 after 100 people join. Go to https://wthunder.spinzo.com/WSU for tickets. These tickets are $20 to the general public. WSU Night will include special music from local DJ, DJ Carbon, and each person who joins receives a special WSU Hockey puck, which will be delivered after the game due to time constraints.
