Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Frank Rokosz, associate professor of Human Performance Studies, will offer a free adult CPR/AED Clinic to staff, faculty and students at 1 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 4) in 134 Heskett Center. This is an informational clinic only. Learn how to perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), resolve a choking problem and perform an initial assessment of a person who may need first aid. An opportunity to actively engage in performing those skills is part of the clinic.

* Campus Recreation has a Black Friday membership special. If you sign up for payroll deduction for spring 2017 today (Friday, Nov. 4) or Nov. 11 or 18, you can get the rest of 2016 for free.

* The Council of University Women (CUW) will present "Red, White and Wu: Honoring Our Veterans," from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in 233 RSC. Lunch will be $7. * The men's basketball team will host Augusta University in an exhibition game at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 5) and the women's basketball team will host Cameron in an exhibition game at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, in Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* Colonial Life will provide free benefit counseling sessions to all employees to discuss the new 2017 health benefits, and give you an opportunity to learn about open enrollment (ending Wednesday, Nov. 30) for our new accident, cancer, critical illness and hospital confinement insurance benefits. Personal sessions will be available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 256 RSC, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 314 RSC. * WSU ShiftSpace will host its ninth annual wearable art fundraising event Project Run-A-Way from 6-10 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 5) at McKnight Art Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. All proceeds benefit student awards and WSU ShiftSpace at 416 S. Commerce. * The third faculty development seminar of the year will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in 156A Media Resources Center. This seminar was designed especially for new faculty, and will feature Michael Flores, assistant director of the School of Accountancy in the Barton School of Business.

* University Libraries is hosting a workshop, "Writing Papers and Citations in MLA Style," for all students from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in 217 Ablah Library.
