Sophomores and juniors in engineering, mathematics, natural sciences and psychology are encouraged to apply for the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship. The Barry Goldwater Scholarship Program was created to encourage outstanding students to pursue research careers in engineering, mathematics, the natural sciences or psychology and to foster excellence in those fields. Each scholarship covers eligible expenses for undergraduate tuition, fees, books and room and board, up to a maximum of $7,500 annually. Each university may nominate up to four students for consideration by the National Goldwater Scholarship competition. The nominees from WSU will be determined through an internal competition with a deadline of Friday, Dec. 2. Interested individuals should contact Roy Myose, chair of the WSU Goldwater Scholarship Committee, at roy.myose@wichita.edu for a copy of the internal WSU application.
