* Eric Arneson, assistant vice president for Student Affairs, Florida International University, Miami, Florida, will be on campus today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) and Thursday, Nov. 3, as a candidate for Vice President for Student Affairs. Students are invited to a public forum from 3:30-4:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC, followed by a social hour from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in 304 RSC. * The second semester nursing class will sell chili from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) in the south lobby of Ahlberg Hall. For a suggested donation of $5 you get one bowl of chili, one bottle of water and either cornbread or a desert. We will also sell WSU badge reels for $5.

* Join us as Ashruta Acharya takes us on a tour of "Nepal," the culture, the economy, the landmarks and heritages, the religions and the people from noon-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) in 142 RSC.

* The women's basketball team will host Newman University at 7:05 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) in Charles Koch Arena. Admission is free at the door for all students with WSU ID.

* The Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Employer Symposium will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 3) in the CAC Theater. The seminar will feature Shocker graduates and their supervisors offering advice on how to get a job after college, what they're doing in their careers and what they look for in job candidates. It is open to the WSU community and free to attend. Light refreshments will be served following the seminar.

* The Center for Entrepreneurship invites you to its Business Booster Series program "Accounting Beyond the Numbers" from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in Devlin Hall. The cost is $10 for students. To register, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5158

* Frank Rokosz, associate professor of Human Performance Studies, will offer a free adult CPR/AED Clinic to staff, faculty and students at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in 134 Heskett Center. No prior registration is required. Simply attend and learn how to perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED) resolve a choking problem and perform an initial assessment of a person who may need first aid. No Red Cross or American Heart Association certification will result from your participation.

* WSU values good teaching. Each year, the Academy for Effective Teaching (AET) solicits nominations from students of WSU faculty members who deserve to be recognized for excellent teaching. The AET Award is the only student-driven teaching award at WSU. All eligible students are urged to take a moment now to make a nomination. * The Carl and Rozina Cassat Regional Institute on Aging announces a call for proposals for undergraduate and graduate student grants. Students can submit proposals requesting funds to support research or to support the development of innovative technologies or programs that address important issues in aging. Each student applicant must have a faculty sponsor. Undergraduate students can apply for grants up to $1,500. Graduate students can apply for grants up to $2,000. * In celebration of Men's Health Month, Student Health Services is offering currently enrolled male students free cholesterol exams and half-priced physicals Nov. 1-18. Please fast (go without food) for eight hours prior to coming in for a cholesterol exam. You are welcome to walk-in for this service. To receive a half-priced physical, students must schedule an appointment by calling 978-3620 and requesting a men's health physical.
