* Wage & Hour training will be held at 9:30 a.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 10) in 262 RSC.

* Brian Kuhlman, professor of biochemistry and molecular biophysics, co-director of the University of North Carolina Molecular and Cellular Biophysics Program will present a Watkins lecture at 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 10) in 224 McKinley Hall. "Proteins: The Ultimate Miniature Machines," will provide an expert's view of how our modern knowledge of protein structure contributes to the current development of more effective insulin, better anti-cancer antibodies and improved enzymes to help digestion of gluten.

* Faculty artist Cristina Castaldi, soprano, joins the WSU Symphony Orchestra for "Verdi to Verismo," a celebration of Italian opera arias, at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 10) in Miller Concert Hall. For tickets, go to http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice or call 978-3233.

* WSU is working with AACRAO Consulting on a strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan over the course of this year. The topic of the next SEM Workshop is Serving Students. * Each year the current faculty is given the opportunity to nominate retired faculty for membership in the Academy for Effective Teaching. Seven new members will be inducted into the academy at a reception from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Armstrong Room, Marcus Welcome Center. * Student Activities Council's Annual Arts and Crafts Fair is coming soon, and we are still accepting vendors for the fair. Come and be a part of this long-time tradition at Wichita State University. The fair will be from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 16-17, on the first floor, RSC. We still have several booths available and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
