Two talks by Watkins speaker in Biochemistry Brian Kuhlman will be held this Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 9-10. Kuhlman, professor of biochemistry and molecular biophysics, co-director of the University of North Carolina Molecular and Cellular Biophysics Program, will present a science talk at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 9) in 224 McKinley Hall. The presentation is titled, "Computer-based Design of Novel Protein Interfaces and Switches." The public talk, "Proteins: The Ultimate Miniature Machines," will be presented at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in 224 McKinley Hall. This talk will provide an expert's view of how our modern knowledge of protein structure contributes to the current development of more effective insulin, better anti-cancer antibodies and improved enzymes to help digestion of gluten.
