* The David and Sally Jackman Scholarly Lecture Series and Department of Anthropology will host sociocultural anthropologist Richard Werbner, professor emeritus from the University of Manchester. He will present, "The Poetics of Wisdom Divination: Renewing the Moral Imagination," at 3 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 11) in the CAC Theater. His documentary, "Caught-in-Between," will be shown at 5 p.m., in the CAC Theater, with a discussion to follow.
* Shocker Startup, Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Society will host the Capstone Start-up Showcase from 6-9:30 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 11) in 233 RSC. Pizza and soda will be provided. Learn more about Capstone, meet your fellow innovators and see how you can get involved. This event is open to all students interested in being on a design team that will culminate in submission to the Shocker New Venture Competition.
* The WSU volleyball team will host Illinois State at 5 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 11) and Indiana State at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in Charles Koch Arena. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID.
* The men's basketball team will host South Carolina State at 8:30 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 11) and Long Beach State at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in Charles Koch Arena. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID. Free tickets are made available on designated days in advance of men's games.
* The women's basketball team will host Creighton at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in Charles Koch Arena. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID.
* WSU business and engineering majors have an exciting opportunity to network with recent WSU alumni currently working in business and engineering positions from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in 142 RSC. Now is your chance to hear firsthand what life is like after college, while learning tips and tricks about your future profession. Dress is business casual. Bring your WSU ID. * Homecoming week will be Jan. 30-Feb. 4. The nomination form is online and we'll accept submissions until Friday, Nov. 25. Names of all nominees will be displayed on an online ballot Nov. 28-Dec. 2. Students will be allowed to vote once a day on their myWSU account. The top 10 candidates, five women and five men, will be named Homecoming Royalty and will participate in events during Homecoming week. Questions can be sent to homecoming@wichita.edu.
