Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* The Institutional Review Board (IRB) will hold open labs from 9:30-11 a.m. today (Monday, Nov. 14) in 405 Jardine Hall. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend these labs to ask general questions about their study, as well as those regarding new forms.

* The WSU Office of Research invites you to attend a webcast of the National Science Foundation Fall 2016 Grants Conference Plenary Sessions today (Monday, Nov. 14) and Tuesday, Nov. 15, in 313 RSC. * The next Pre-Tenure Club meeting will be at 2 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 14) in 300 Clinton Hall. Send questions and RSVPs to Gery Markova at gergana.markova@wichita.edu.

* The HR Benefits Team has scheduled open lab dates to help employees earn their 2017 HealthQuest discount prior to the 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 deadline. All employees are welcome to attend. A lab is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 15) in 124 Jabara Hall.

* Seven new members will be inducted into the Academy for Effective Teaching at a reception from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Armstrong Room, Marcus Welcome Center. You are invited to the reception honoring the inductees for their outstanding teaching careers at WSU. RSVP by tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 15) to janis.hudson@wichita.edu.

* Unclassified Professionals (UP) are invited to attend the UP Senate meeting from 9-11 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 15) in 262 RSC. The agenda is available at http://wichita.edu/upsenate under events.

* The Commencement Office is looking for individuals who are available to help with Fall Commencement from about noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. * Students, faculty and staff are invited to discuss the themes of "Start Something That Matters," by Blake Mycoskie. We will screen the short documentary covering the major themes within the book during this event at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in 142 RSC.
