Trans Awareness Week starts Monday, Nov. 14

Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Spectrum: LGBTQ & Allies for Trans Awareness Week starting Monday, Nov. 14. Trans Awareness Week helps to raise the visibility of transgender and gender nonconforming people. The week encompasses diverse programming. Attendees can begin with Gender Diversity Training, then go more in depth with Transgender 101, facilitated by Stephanie Mott, founder and executive director of Kansas Statewide Transgender Education Project, an organization that works to eliminate discrimination against transgender people and their families through education. End the week with Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance on Sunday, Nov. 20, that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
