Reminders, deadlines and events

* Faculty and staff are invited to attend a come and go reception for Mary Herrin, vice president for Administration and Finance, from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, in 208 Morrison Hall. Remarks by President John Bardo will be made at 2:30 p.m. Herrin will retire on Dec. 31, after 43 years of service to Wichita State.

* WSU's School of Performing Arts Theatre Program presents the Pulitzer Prize nominated play "Other Desert Cities," by Jon Robin Baitz, at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 1) to Saturday, Dec. 3, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in Wilner Auditorium. * Shop the University Bookstore for the holidays and earn Wu Bucks toward more Shocker gear. For every $50 spent from now to Saturday, Dec. 24, earn a $5 coupon to be used in January and February on any in-store purchase. Some exclusions apply, see store for details.

* Faculty and staff are invited to the President's Holiday Reception from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, third floor, RSC. Plan now to attend.

* Human Resources, in conjunction with The Kansas Department of Labor's Division of Industrial Safety and Health, will offer workplace ergonomic assessments on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 14-15. Each assessment takes 15-20 minutes. Interested employees can sign up by sending their name, title and department/office location to Sarah Hunter at sarah.hunter@wichita.edu. Limited slots are available.
