Reminders, deadlines and events

* Textbook Buyback is going on now at the University Bookstore. Bring in your gently used textbooks now to Saturday, Dec. 17, during normal hours of operation to receive cash for your books. Rental books are due back by Tuesday, Dec. 20, with a late fee charged after that date. A valid Shocker ID is required for all buyback transactions.

* The Office of Human Resources will be closed to walk-in traffic on Friday, Dec. 16, because of office reconfiguration. All scheduled appointments will be honored and the reception phone line will be open for any HR-related inquiries. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

* The University Bookstore appreciates its customers. To say thank you, we're offering a Stuff the Bag event on Saturday, Dec. 17. Take 20 percent off any WSU imprinted item that you can fit into our bags -- one bag per paying customer. It's perfect for holiday shopping and stocking stuffers. We're open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. this Saturday, so stop by.

* Student Health Services will close soon for winter break. Prescription refill requests must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, and picked up by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19. If you need healthcare assistance during the break and are unsure where to go, visit our website at http://www.wichita.edu/shs and click on the link, "Medication Emergencies / After Hours Medical Care."

* Buy your holiday cards this year from Wichita State's AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) student group. They will sell unique cards designed by members of the organization for $1-$5 from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 14) and Thursday, Dec. 15, on the first floor, RSC. You may also purchase cards online at http://www.wichita.edu/aiga

* Mind Matters is a student organization that aims to raise awareness and provide education about mental health issues and resources. We currently have open positions on our leadership team. For more information and access to the application, visit our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/mindmatterswsu/

* Springfest kicks off the spring semester for both student organizations and university departments. This event acts as a way for WSU students to check out the many organizations we have on campus and discover the amazing resources offered. Space is limited for RSOs and campus departments, so register your organization now. For more information or to reserve your table, go to http://www.wichita.edu/springfest. Registration is open until Wednesday, Jan. 18, or until all spaces are filled. If you have questions, contact Student Involvement at 978-3022.
