Reminders, deadlines and events

* The Office of Research will hold monthly workshops to address Institutional Review Board (IRB) forms and questions about proposed or current studies. Labs will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on the following Mondays -- Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, April 10, and May 8, in 405 Jardine Hall. For more information, contact Jana Henderson at 978-5313 or jana.henderson@wichita.edu.

* Wichita State counts down the top 10 stories of 2016. From Clash of the Colleges to the Innovation Campus and everything between, 2016 was a great year to be a Shocker, and we look forward to seeing what 2017 will bring. http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5285

* Classrooms across campus are equipped with consistent, standard technology and A/V equipment. The technology is locked with a consistent key that will work in all classrooms (except Devlin Hall). Faculty and staff can get a key by attending a short training session. Faculty are encouraged to make sure their assigned rooms have the technology they need. If there are additional needs or questions, call 978-3588. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5282 for the Spring 2017 Classroom Technology Training Schedule.

* It is again time to begin development of Educational Opportunity and Student Fee funding requests through SGA for fiscal year 2018. Through student fees, these programs provide funding for financial assistance to students (Educational Opportunity Fund) or the funding of programs/activities delivered directly to students (Student Fees). * Shocker Bowling has teamed up with Dillons as part of their Community Rewards Program to raise scholarship dollars. To enroll, go to http://www.dillons.com to create an account. Then go to http://www.dillons.com/communityrewards, click enroll, enter 46561 to search for Wichita State Bowling and click enroll. Every time you use your PLUS card at a Dillons or Kroger, a portion of your purchase goes to the Shocker Bowling program. This does not affect your grocery bill or fuel points.

* If you are working on a 500 or 600 level course you must include additional outcomes and assignments for graduate students who are taking your course. This is a required step unless the catalog restricts enrollment in your class to undergraduates only. This article and the accompanying podcast will explain the necessary steps you need to take to ensure we are addressing HLC requirements -- http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5265
