Bob Smith began his duties as director of the Physical Plant at Wichita State University on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The position was previously held by Woodrow DePontier, who retired.

Smith comes to Wichita State from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he served as director of Physical Plant Services. Previous physical plant experience includes stints at Arkansas State University, University of Missouri and Emory University. He has also held positions as a facilities manager in the private sector.
