Reminders, deadlines and events
* The next session of the Hiring Process Training is from 9 a.m.-noon tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 18). This class covers the benefits-eligible hiring process, including completion of the search forms and the roles and responsibilities of the search chair, search committee member and hiring manager. * To assist students with registration, fee payment and financial aid questions this week (Jan. 17-20), the Office of the Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable and Undergraduate Admissions will offer extended hours from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Assistance is also available for students through OneStop in 122 Jabara Hall from 8 a.m.- 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m-5 p.m. Fridays or at 1-855-WSU1STP.
* The Research Compliance Office will hold a come-and-go open lab from 9-11 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 18) in Devlin Hall Innovation Hub. This is an open lab, and no registration is required.
* The campus community is invited to join Vice President John Tomblin for an Innovation Campus update and Q&A at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in the CAC Theater. Tomblin will outline recent developments on the WSU Innovation Campus. There will be time for questions and feedback from the campus community.
* WSU is working with AACRAO Consulting on a strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan over the course of this year. The topic of the next SEM Workshop is Helping Students Succeed. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the East Beggs Ballroom, RSC. A light lunch will be provided. * The Voice and Opera program at WSU is hosting the annual Canta in Italia (Sing in Italy) scholarship fundraising party from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at The Ville, 123 Andover Road. Tickets are $70, the tax-deductible portion is $55. Reserve tickets by calling Marie Allyn King at 316-978-6373. Checks should be made out to the WSU Foundation with "Voice Study Abroad" in the memo line. It will be a fun-filled evening including Italian food, wine and Italian arias and songs. Internationally renowned opera stars Samuel Ramey and Alan Held will sing with WSU voice majors who hope to study voice and Italian in Italy next summer.
