Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* An additional training session has been added for those involved in editing / approving the upcoming catalog using the new CourseLeaf software. The session will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Friday, Jan. 27) in 124 Jabara Hall. Register through myTraining on your myWSU homepage.

* WSU Ventures will hold a Trademark TownHall from 1:30-3 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 27) in the Widget Lab, first floor, Devlin Hall. This will be a come-and-go Q&A session with Cheryl Burbach, intellectual property attorney and partner at Hovey Williams, for students, faculty and staff with trademark-related questions and concerns.

* Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal TRIO program that provides free academic services to first-generation students (neither parent has a four-year degree) and / or have limited income. Faculty and / or staff members who are aware of students who could use our services and could be eligible are encouraged to refer students to the Student Support Services TRIO Welcome Back event from 2-4 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 27) in 261 RSC.

* Nominations are now being accepted for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for University Support Staff. The nomination form and instructions can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5333. Nominations are due today (Friday, Jan. 27).

* Homecoming 2017: Paint the Town Yellow will be next week (Jan. 30-Feb. 4), and the WSU Alumni Association challenges all campus departments to show their Shocker spirit by participating in the Campus Decorations contest. Entry forms must be received by 5 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 27). Decorations must be up by Monday, Jan. 30, and remain up for the duration of Homecoming week. * Nominations are now being accepted for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for Unclassified Professionals. * A discussion on the development of an Interdisciplinary Research Team (IRT) cluster hire proposal around the topic of big data and analytics will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in 261 RSC. Please RSVP to carol.mccall@wichita.edu.
