Reminders, deadlines and events

* Student Government Association is accepting applications for Election Commission. Applications for Election Commission are due by 5 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 27).

* Two WSU Doctoral of Audiology students need subjects for their research projects. They study an existing and a newly developed clinical technique for evaluating function of the middle ear. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, have normal hearing, have not had an ear infection in the past three months, nor had a cold or flu in the past two weeks. * Game of Life will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in 142 RSC. Students will be able to learn about what it costs to live in the real world through our game that mimics the board game, Game of Life. Students who participate will leave with a T-shirt and have the chance to enter to win one of our great prizes.

* Join us for an evening of fun with Daniel James' comedy-hypnosis show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in the CAC Theater, where laughter is the best medicine. Admission is free to WSU students with Shocker ID.

* University Libraries is hosting the workshop "Being Digitally Literate -- What does it Mean?" from 2-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in 217 Ablah Library. For more information, go to http://libresources.wichita.edu/diglitworkshops. Seats are limited.

* SAC's Valentine's Day Dinner and Movie is the perfect mixture of fun and romance. Let SAC treat you and your date to a delicious dinner and viewing of "Valentine's Day," on Friday, Feb. 10, on the third floor, Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner and live entertainment. The movie begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now to Friday, Feb. 3, at http://www.wichita.edu/sac. Tickets are $5 for WSU students. * WSU Housing will offer a new Living Learning community (LLC) in Fairmount Towers beginning fall 2017 that will have a global focus. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about other cultures and share about U.S. culture, especially if you have studied abroad or would like to study abroad in the future.
