Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Nominations are being sought for Wichita State's 2017 Senior Honor Men and Women awards. To review the eligibility requirements and application process, go to http://www.wichita.edu/seniorhonor. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. today (Monday, Feb. 6).

* WSU's Biology Department will host a spring seminar from 4-5 p.m. today (Monday, Feb. 6) in 218 Hubbard Hall. Alice Boyle from Kansas State University will present "Causes and consequences of animal movement case studies of tropical forest and temperate grassland birds."

* Five young artists appear as soloists with the WSU Symphony at 7:30 p.m. today (Monday, Feb. 6) in Miller Concert Hall. For tickets, go to http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice or call 978-3233.

* Stop by a table inside the main entrance in the middle of the RSC from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Monday, Feb. 6) to Thursday, Feb. 9, and fill in the reason why you love Wichita State on a postcard. The primary objective with this special admissions campaign is to provide a personalized message and greeting to each admitted student from the campus community that will embrace them as new Shockers in the fall.

* Come with your questions and get assistance completing an IP disclosure form for your ideas, technology, curriculum, research and more from 2-4 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 7) in the Innovation Hub, 215 Devlin Hall. This is an open lab and no registration is required.

* The RSC is sponsoring a food drive for the Shocker Food Locker on campus. From today (Monday, Feb. 6) to Friday, Feb. 10, drop off items in the donation bins at the north and south entrances to the RSC. For every item donated, University Dining Services will match it with another item for the Shocker Food Locker. * Student Health Services has the flu vaccine for all faculty and staff for just $10 while supplies last. Vaccines are still free for students. Get your vaccine from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays in 209 Ahlberg Hall.

* Kevin Hines, award-winning global speaker, bestselling author, documentary filmmaker, survivor of suicide and suicide prevention and mental health advocate will give a talk at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in 301 RSC.
