We will kick off the month with the Social Justice Institute where attendees will Find Their Voice. Learn about Wichita's role in the Civil Rights Movement from Gretchen Eick, an author and former history professor from Friends University. Hear from our own Robert Weems Jr., the Willard W. Garvey Distinguished Professor of Business History, as he discusses the rise and fall of black-owned businesses both locally and nationally. Jeannine Bell, Richard S. Melvin Professor of Law, Maurer School of Law, Indiana University, will speak about incarceration statistics to public opinion and police behavior.
