At the General Faculty meeting held on Jan. 27, the faculty voted to approve expanding the membership of the Faculty Senate to include Unclassified Teaching Professionals (clinical educators, engineering educators and Intensive English instructors among others). This vote was taken upon the recommendation of the Faculty Senate, which voted on the issue in December following a report from the Rules Committee. The change will not only expand the membership, but will clarify some ambiguities in the terminology used to identify teaching employees on campus in the Faculty Senate Rules and Constitution.
