Recognized internationally as "one of opera's finest singing actors," Alan Held, WSU associate professor and the Ann and Dennis Ross Faculty of Distinction in Opera, will appear with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, in Century II Concert Hall. The program, titled "A Night at the Opera," will include music by Wagner, Puccini, Bizet and others, and will be conducted by Wichita Symphony Music Director Daniel Hege. The orchestra and Held will be joined by the Wichita Symphony Chorus under the direction of WSU assistant professor Michael Hanawalt.
