Community Engagement Institute news

In July 2015, Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) implemented a new data-driven and community-informed approach for the state infrastructure of prevention services. This redesign reflected KDADS' priority to help community-level prevention be more effective, while integrating the prevention of substance abuse, problem gambling and suicide. The Community Engagement Institute is a partner agency in the Kansas Prevention Collaborative, joining with other agencies and coalitions across the state in developing innovative strategies based on assessment and research.

Recently, the following presentation was shared with Behavioral Health Commissioner Susan Fout and KDADS Secretary Tim Keck, with contributions from each of the Kansas Prevention Collaborative partner agencies, reflecting on their first year.
