Volunteer for the Upcoming Community Action Poverty Simulation

Calling all Wichita State faculty and staff -- could you survive a month in poverty? Join Community Service Board (CSB) for a full-scale simulation of the virtual realities of life with limited resources. CSB will host a Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, third floor, RSC. During the simulation, participants role-play the lives of low-income families. They have the stressful task of providing for basic necessities and shelter on a limited budget during the course of four 15-minute "weeks."

We invite you to participate in CAPS as a volunteer staffer which will allow you to play the role of a community resource like check cashing, the utility company, a case-worker, roles mentioned above or any other agency.

There will be a required volunteer orientation from 5-6 pm in the RSC on the day of the simulation. To volunteer or for more information, go to http://bit.ly/2knT0PW
