There's no debate; these WSU teams are winners

Two WSU debate teams competed at the District 3 qualifier to the National Debate Tournament (NDT) recently, and both earned spots in this year's national tournament in late March at the University of Kansas, Edwards campus. This is the first time WSU has qualified two teams to the NDT via the district qualifying tournament. The NDT is limited to the top 78 two-person teams from around the country. We typically wait for our version of "Selection Sunday" to see if we receive an at-large invitation, but this year the WSU teams eliminated the drama by directly qualifying through the tournament. This is a tremendous accomplishment for our students who have worked incredibly hard all year to earn this recognition. The students who qualified are Nick O'Donnell (senior, philosophy), Daniel Saunders (junior, philosophy), Jamie Welch (junior, political science) and Riley Crane (sophomore, psychology).
