Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* The President's Budget Advisory Committee invites all members of the WSU community to an open forum from 10 a.m.-noon tomorrow (Tuesday, March 7) in the CAC Theater. The Budget Advisory Committee will present and seek feedback on a new process, now under development that will be used to gather, assess and promote ideas to increase efficiency and generate revenue for the university. The public forum will be the first of a series as the work of the committee continues.

* The Watkins Visiting Professorship Lecture Series in Biological Sciences will present Ellen T. Matloff, president and CEO of My Gene Counsel LLC, a digital health company that helps clinicians and consumers understand, track and use their genetic testing information. She will give a public lecture, "Women in the Biosciences," at 4 p.m. today (Monday, March 6) in 211 Hubbard Hall, and a scientific lecture, "Genetic Testing for Cancer: Who Should Consider," at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, March 7) in 211 Hubbard Hall.

* Panel participants have been announced for the campus-wide Strategic Planning Spring Forum event from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 9, in Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC. Please plan to attend. * Sign up for the annual WSU Pre-Retirement Planning Seminar from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC. Employees 55 years and older are welcome to attend. * The Graduate School will continue its Professional Development Series with "Surviving Graduate School," at 3 p.m. Friday, March 10, in 266 RSC. Get practical advice from a faculty member and psychologist with the Counseling and Testing Center, plus tips and techniques for managing stress. There will be snacks. * The President's Distinguished Service Awards and the unclassified professionals' Wayne Carlisle Distinguished Service Award will be presented during the Shocker Pride Celebration Tuesday, March 14, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC.
