The WSU Center for Women's Studies, in partnership with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, will host Sen. Oletha Faust-Goudeau as a keynote speaker at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in 100 Lindquist Hall. Faust-Goudeau, senator of Kansas' 29th district and alumna of WSU, will present "Women and Politics in Kansas and the U.S."

The Women's Studies' Summit will continue with presentations by faculty, students and alumni on Thursday, March 9, at the Marcus Welcome Center.

Additionally, the first Wichita International Women's Day festival will take place around Wichita on WSU's main campus and WSU Shift Space Gallery, 416 S. Commerce #102.

Shift Space will host a one day exhibition, "Politics, Trauma, Gender and Art," from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. Other festival events including speakers, workshops, live performance art and resource fairs, which will continue through Friday, March 10.

To submit art for the exhibition or to volunteer at the festival, contact WSU VISTA fellow Turquoise Thomas-Morales at tathomas2@wichita.edu. Volunteers for the event will receive a free "ICT IWD FEST" T-shirt.
