Reminders, deadlines and events

* The WSU community will actively participate in the statewide safety tornado drill at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday, March 7). This is a mandatory university-wide drill to satisfy the requirements of the federal Clery Act. All personnel -- faculty, staff, students and guests -- are expected to go to a designated shelter until the all clear. The ShockerAlert system also will be activated during this drill and provide information about when you may resume normal activities. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/tornado to learn more about what to do during a tornado warning and to locate your designated shelter.

* Come with your questions and get assistance completing an IP disclosure form for your ideas, technology, curriculum, research and more from 2-4 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 7) in the Innovation Hub in 215 Devlin Hall. This is an open lab and no registration is required.

* The Psychology Department Colloquium will present a talk by Mark Glaser, professor of public administration in the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs, from 3:30-5 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 7) in 128 Jabara Hall. Glaser's topic is "Building Community Capacity: The Public Interest, Coproduction and Demonstrated Trust."

* The Watkins Visiting Professorship Lecture Series in Biological Sciences will present Ellen T. Matloff, president and CEO of My Gene Counsel LLC, a digital health company that helps clinicians and consumers understand, track and use their genetic testing information. She will give a scientific lecture, "Genetic Testing for Cancer: Who Should Consider," at 4 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 7) in 211 Hubbard Hall.

* Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend a Town Hall to discuss the Campus Wellness and YMCA proposal from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, March 8) in the CAC Theater. * The Office of Research will hold a workshop to outline step-by-step instructions for responding to a Request for Proposal (RFP) at 3 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, March 8) in 405 Jardine Hall.
