Wichita State University announces Lenora N. McGregor Scholarship recipient
Giesen, son of Bob and Linda Giesen and the fourth of five children, plans to major in aerospace engineering at Wichita State University. He has been involved throughout high school in a variety of extracurricular activities. He plays varsity golf and basketball and serves as president of the National Spanish Honor Society. He is an active member of Skills USA, National Honor Society and Link Crew, a mentor group to aid the transition from middle to high school.
The Lenora N. McGregor Endowed Scholarship awards up to $26,000 over four years to an incoming freshman student who has demonstrated academic excellence, has an academic vision for the future and who expresses an interest in advancing knowledge through individual learning. The McGregor Scholar agrees to maintain active membership in WSU's Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. The Cohen Honors College aims to engage students and faculty in innovative, intellectual, creative and professional work in a complex society.
