Diverse Women's Summit tomorrow (Wednesday, March 8) and Thursday, March 9

The WSU Center for Women's Studies, in partnership with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, will host Sen. Oletha Faust-Goudeau as a keynote speaker at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, March 8) in 100 Lindquist Hall. Faust-Goudeau, senator of Kansas' 29th district and alumna of WSU, will present "Women and Politics in Kansas and the U.S."

The Women's Studies' Summit will continue with presentations by faculty, students and alumni from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the Marcus Welcome Center. A brown bag lunch discussion will take place from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Beverages and desserts will be provided.

Additionally, the first Wichita International Women's Day festival will take place around Wichita on WSU's main campus and WSU Shift Space Gallery, 416 S. Commerce #102.

Shift Space will host a one day exhibition, "Politics, Trauma, Gender and Art," from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. Other festival events include speakers, workshops, live performance art and resource fairs, which will continue through Friday, March 10.
