Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Grading for spring 2017 first eight-week courses is open. Faculty can access the Banner 9 grading form via the Teach/Advise tab in the myWSU portal. Grades for any class officially ending by Saturday, March 11, can be entered during this grading period. Grades are due by 10 p.m. Thursday, March 16. Questions about grading can be directed to the Office of the Registrar at 978-3090.

* The Biology Department Seminar will feature Lydia Zeglin from Kansas State University at 4 p.m. today (Monday, March 13) in 218 Hubbard Hall. Zelin will present "Disturbance and soil microbes: How small organisms respond to big changes."

* With midterms behind us, it's time to reflect and make any necessary changes to finish the semester strong. Stop by the Transition Tuesday table from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, March 14) on the first floor, RSC.

* The next Pre-Tenure Club meeting will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, March 14) in 300 Clinton Hall. Send questions and RSVPs to Gery Markova at gergana.markova@wichita.edu.

* They're here -- School of Music T-shirts are made from super soft 100 percent ring spun cotton, and aluminum water bottles are BPA free. Order yours at http://www.wichita.edu/musicstore -- then swing by the music office to pick it up.

* Your help is needed to judge the 12th Annual T-Shirt Design Competition from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in 266 RSC. Staff and faculty are invited to judge the preliminary designs for the competition before the voting is open to the student body. For more information, contact jacybeck24@hotmail.com.

* Beginning Monday, March 20, tours of The Flats will be offered from 2-5 p.m. every Monday and Friday. Individuals interested in a tour can arrive at the Marcus Welcome Center anytime between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays, and a housing staff member will be there to escort them to the building site and take them on a tour.

* The Shockers have cemented their spot in the NCAA tournament and the University Bookstore has the official T-shirt to celebrate their bid. They are $19.99 and available in sizes small-2XL.
