* Join WSU Ventures and the Center for Entrepreneurship as they host this edition of the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2) webinar series, "Building a Startup Nation," from noon-12:45 p.m. today (Thursday, March 16) on the second floor, Devlin Hall. We'll explore stories, ideas and insights about women in entrepreneurship. Feel free to bring your lunch.
* Donna Nelson, professor of chemistry at the University of Oklahoma and immediate past president of the American Chemical Society, will present two Watkins Visiting Professorship lectures today (Thursday, March 16) and tomorrow (Friday, March 17). Nelson will present "Lessons learned while science advisor for 'Breaking Bad'" at 3:30 p.m. today, and "Increasing America's scientific readiness at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in 211 Hubbard Hall.
* The President's Budget Advisory Committee has launched a simple web form to gather money-saving and revenue-generating ideas that can positively impact the university's budget. Ideas collected from the form will be assessed by the committee and the most promising of them will be publicly posted on a WSU Idea Generator blog to seek public comment and gauge interest. * The WSU School of Music and Performing Arts will present the opera, "La Clemenza di Tito," (The Clemency of Tito) by W.A. Mozart and C. Mazzola at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, March 16) to Saturday, March 18, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, in Miller Concert Hall. It is rated PG and will run for about two hours and 30 minutes. * This month's (March) free biometric screening is Tuesday, March 21, in 142 RSC. To check your scheduled screening or sign up for future dates, log in at https://KansasHealthQuest.CernerWellness.com (click on the Step 2 Biometric Screenings image). Walk-ins are acceptable, depending upon availability.
