Many campus buildings to be affected by water service shutdown during spring break
The affected buildings will be Ahlberg Hall, Beggs Hall, original Pizza Hut, Physical Plant greenhouses, Central Energy Plant, Beech Wind Tunnel, Visual Communications Building, Aviation Testing Laboratory, Wallace Hall, Ablah Library, Media Resources Center, Lindquist Hall, Grace-Wilkie Hall and Annex, Printing and Publications, Campus Credit Union, University Police Building, Wilkins Stadium and Eck Stadium main grandstand.
Restrooms, water fountains, kitchenette sinks, service sinks and process equipment cooling water systems will be out of service throughout the above buildings on those days.
Although inconvenient to many, the University has been able to at least cooordinate the city's work to take place early within our Spring Break week in order to minimize the inconvenience as much as possible. If work goes well, there is a chance that a majority of the listed facilities will only be out of service on Tuesday, with service restored by Wednesday morning. The facilities that are most likely to be shut off from water service for two full days will be Ahlberg Hall, Beggs Hall, Original Pizza Hut, Physical Plant Greenhouses and the Central Energy Plant.
Please be advised also that the Perimeter Road section nearest the water tower, between Wheatshocker Drive and faculty / staff parking in lot 6, will be closed to facilitate this water valve work. Wheatshocker drive and parking lot 6 will be accessible from Perimeter Road outside this closed road section.
