Reminders, deadlines and events

* WSU's School of Music and Performing Arts will present the opera, "La Clemenza di Tito," (The Clemency of Tito) by W.A. Mozart and C. Mazzola, at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday, March 17) and tomorrow (Saturday, March 18) and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, in Miller Concert Hall. It is rated PG. Admission is free to students with WSU ID.

* Many campus buildings will be affected by a City of Wichita water service maintenance shutdown on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 21-22. The shutdown is necessary to replace aged and inoperable isolation valves on the 24-inch water main that crosses the campus from 17th Street to and through the water tower and up to 21st Street.

* During spring break, Student Health Services will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, March 20; Thursday, March 23; and Friday, March 24; and closed Tuesday and Wednesday, March 21-22, because no water will be available in Ahlberg Hall those two days.

* The Association of Hindu Students in America (AHINSA) in association with the Cultural Association of India proudly presents Shakir Khan, a Sitar extravaganza at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, in the CAC Theater. A donation of $5 is appreciated. The event also will feature the annual Miss India Wichita competition.

* Need a place to watch all the big games? The Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes will televise all the games on their many TVs, plus run some great specials during the Shocker games. Stop by for 20 percent off starter menu items, $1 fountain drinks, $2 Bud Light draws and $7 Bud Light pitchers.

* Do you want to do something more than homework with your weekend? Join Community Service Board and Thrive Allen County for a Weekend Immersion trip filled with service and learning about the revitalization taking place in that area Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2. Projects include planting parks, restoring historical buildings and beautifying community areas. There is no cost to attend. * We've teamed up with Uber to make getting around town easier than ever before. Beginning today (Friday, March 10) and running throughout the semester, WSU students can request free rides (up to $14 each) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Go to https://www.uber.com/info/wsu/ to sign up.

* The Council of University Women Scholarship is awarded without regard to financial need. Preference will be given to graduate or undergraduate women with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
