Neff Hall water service will be shut down

Neff Hall water service will be shut down today (Tuesday, March 21) and possibly Wednesday and Thursday, March 22-23, to facilitate the city of Wichita's replacement of aged and inoperable isolation valves on the 24-inch water main that crosses the campus from 17th Street to and through the water tower and up to 21st Street.

Restrooms, water fountains, kitchenette sinks and service sinks will be out of service throughout Neff Hall.

Although inconvenient to many, the university has been able to coordinate the city's work to take place early within spring break week to minimize the inconvenience as much as possible. If work goes well, there is a chance that Neff Hall will only be out of service today, with service restored by Wednesday morning. The facilities that are most likely to be shut off from water service for two full days will be Ahlberg Hall, Beggs Hall, original Pizza Hut, Physical Plant greenhouses and the Central Energy Plant.

Please be advised also that the Perimeter Road section nearest the water tower, that segment being between Wheatshocker Drive and Faculty / Staff Parking Lot 6 will be closed to facilitate this water valve work. Wheatshocker Drive and Parking Lot 6 will be accessible from Perimeter Road outside this closed road section.
