New Spanish Class for Heritage Speakers to be offered in fall 2017

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures is proud to announce that it will offer its first Spanish heritage language course in the fall 2017 semester. The course is designed for students who grew up in the U.S. speaking Spanish at home or in their communities, Spanish heritage speakers. These students have different language skills and different learning needs than second language learners.

The new course will offer bilingual students an opportunity to recover and / or develop their language abilities and improve their Spanish writing skills, while exploring topics related to their cultural backgrounds and communities. Please share this information with any students who you think may be interested.
