* The general counsel and the University Police Department invite you to attend the first of four open forums discussing conceal carry rules going into effect July 1, 2017. The first open forum will be at 1 p.m. today (Thursday, April 13) in 266 RSC. The event will be live streamed at http://bit.ly/wsu_live

* Join the American Red Cross Club, Interfraternity Council and the Accelerated Nursing Class of 2017 in the last blood drive of the semester. The drive will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today (Thursday, April 13) in Grace Memorial Chapel, just north of the RSC. There will be free pizza to presenting donors while supplies last. * Writing Now / Reading Now will feature a presentation by Kim Addonizio at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, April 13) at the Ulrich Museum of Art. A reception will precede the talk at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.

* The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources and Counseling and Testing Center invite you to gender diversity training from 2:30-5 p.m. Monday, April 17, in 264 RSC. This training will cover gender identity, transitioning, challenges posed, myths, misconceptions and inclusive language. The goal is to clarify the understanding of issues related to gender minority / transgender people. Sign up for this training at wichita.edu/transgender.

* All WSU faculty and staff are invited to the annual Tilford Fellowship Colloquium from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, in 264 RSC. Tilford Fellowships are awarded each year by the Office of Academic Affairs to faculty and instructors in support of work to develop a new course or modify an existing one to enhance its diversity content. Current Fellows will give presentations on classes in social work with aging populations; diversity in graphic novels; hip hop in the academy; race, racism and social justice; and clinical field experience in special education. In addition, next year's Tilford Fellows will be announced. Lunch is provided. Please RSVP to janis.hudson@wichita.edu by Tuesday, April 18.

* Human Resources is able to accept applications for summer employee tuition assistance. This semester, we're streamlining the process and improving responsiveness. Please submit applications electronically to tuitionassistance@wichita.edu rather than by hard copy. The deadline for submission of applications has been extended to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30.
