* Mary Sue Foster, professor of art education, will retire next month after 50 years of service at WSU. Foster built a program of academic excellence, compassion and creativity for her art education students. The School of Art, Design and Creative Industries (ADCI) is hosting a reception to honor Foster from 4-5:30 p.m. today (Monday, April 17) in the atrium of McKnight Art Center.
* If you are a budget officer, review officer or vice president, annual training on the budgeting system is strongly encouraged and will be held today (Monday, April 17) to Wednesday, April 19. * The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources and Counseling and Testing Center invite you to gender diversity training from 2:30-5 p.m. today (Monday, April 17) in 264 RSC. Sign up for this training at wichita.edu/transgender.
* Register for the final SEM workshop of the year, which will focus on receiving feedback on our progress to date and identify the need for additional initiatives. The workshop will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in 180 Hughes Metropolitan Complex. RSVP to jeanne.patton@wichita.edu by tomorrow (Tuesday, April 18).
* April's free biometric screening is tomorrow (Tuesday, April 18) in 142 RSC. To check your scheduled screening, or sign up for future dates, log in at https://KansasHealthQuest.CernerWellness.com (click on the Step 2 Biometric Screenings image). Screenings are worth five credits for both employee and spouses (if applicable). New this year -- HealthQuest will have an on-site NCQA-certified Health Coach in 258 RSC to help you create a health action plan.
* 2017 Spring Commencement ceremonies will be held Saturday, May 13. The Commencement Office is looking for individuals who are available to work for each of the ceremonies that day. * University faculty awards will be presented during the spring general faculty meeting on Friday, May 5, in the Beggs Ballroom. There will be a reception at 2:30 p.m. with light refreshments to meet and greet the honorees.
