Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will be at Wichita State University at 2:45 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 12) to sign Senate Bill 174 authorizing an affiliation between WSU and Wichita Area Technical College (WATC).

The event will be in the lobby of WSU's Experiential Engineering Building, 4000 E. 17th St. Media are welcome to attend.

If approved by the accrediting body of both schools, WATC would be known as the WSU Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology. WATC would continue as a technical college with open admissions and its own faculty and curriculum.

WSU and WATC officials will also speak and be available for questions.
