* The state conference for the AAUP (American Association of University Professors) will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 29, in the Marcus Welcome Center Wallace Auditorium. Registration is $10 at the door, with a welcome at 10:30 a.m. by WSU Faculty Senate President Bayram Yildirim. * WSU's Biology Department will host a seminar from 4-5 p.m. today (Monday, April 24) in 218 Hubbard Hall. Steve Hallgren from Oklahoma State University will present "Cross timbers: Effects of fire frequency on plant biodiversity and forest composition and structure."

* Airbus is celebrating its arrival on the WSU Innovation Campus. The Airbus AirCart will be on campus from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, April 24-26, giving away Airbus promotional items. Look for the AirCart's maiden voyage while you're out and about and pick up a souvenir from this historic flight.

* Douglas Melton from the Kern Family Foundation will present "The Disobedient Engineer," from 1:30-2:30 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, April 25) in 261 RSC. There will be a 35-minute presentation followed by faculty discussion. Regardless of your college, department, or courses you teach -- you will appreciate how three mental habits are disrupting higher education across the country.

* University faculty awards will be presented during the spring general faculty meeting on Friday, May 5, in the Beggs Ballroom. The university faculty awards recognizes excellence in teaching, research and creative activities. There will be a reception at 2:30 p.m. with light refreshments to meet and greet the honorees. The faculty award ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. The general faculty meeting will begin immediately following the award ceremony. All activities are in the Beggs Ballroom. * Green Zone Training is available for faculty and staff who would like to learn more about working with military and veteran students. * The 13th Annual Graduate Research and Scholarly Projects Symposium (GRASP) is Friday, April 28, on the third floor, RSC. Stop by to see the exciting research grad students have been working on, from medical advances to Portuguese neo-fado from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Karen Countryman-Roswurm, founder and executive director for the WSU Center for Combating Human Trafficking, will present a keynote speech at 9 a.m. in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom.
