* Join a College of Engineering panel of NSF Career Awardees Esra Buyuktahtakin, Animesh Chakravarthy and Pingfeng Wang for a Q&A session for NSF Career proposal development from 11 a.m.-noon today (Friday, April 21), in 266 RSC.

* The College of Engineering, in collaboration with Swathers Robotics of Hesston, will host more than 25 high school robotics teams at the Shocker Special - Starstruck VEX Robotics Competition from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Friday, April 21) in the Heskett Center gym.

* The Center for Entrepreneurship's Shocker New Venture Competition (SNVC) is underway and will award start-up capital to aid competitors in the launch of their new ventures. The Trade Show will take place from 3-6 p.m. today (Friday, April 21) at Charles Koch Arena, where teams will set up displays and pitch their business concepts to more than 100 business leaders.

* WSU Theatre's new film, "Dramedy," will premiere at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday, April 21) and Saturday, April 22, in Welsbacher Theatre, Hughes Metropolitan Complex. "Dramedy," rated PG, is about Veronica, an aimless girl who delivers her grandmother's car across the country and finds a missing relative on the way. * Douglas Melton from the Kern Family Foundation will present "The Disobedient Engineer," from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in 261 RSC. There will be a 35-minute presentation followed by faculty discussion. Regardless of your college, department, or courses you teach -- you will appreciate how three mental habits are disrupting higher education across the country.

* University faculty awards will be presented during the spring general faculty meeting on Friday, May 5, in the Beggs Ballroom. The university faculty awards recognizes excellence in teaching, research and creative activities. There will be a reception at 2:30 p.m. with light refreshments to meet and greet the honorees. The faculty award ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. The general faculty meeting will begin immediately following the award ceremony. All activities are in the Beggs Ballroom.
