Airbus, Dassault Systemes to hold grand openings at Wichita State April 27
The Airbus program will include remarks from Allan McArtor, chairman of Airbus Americas; Barry Eccleston, president and CEO of Airbus Americas; John O'Leary, vice president and general manager of Airbus Americas Engineering; John Bardo, president of Wichita State University; and Jeff Colyer, Lieutenant Governor of Kansas. O'Leary will also make a special student contest announcement.
Bruno Latchague, senior executive vice president, global field operations (Americas), industry solutions and indirect channels of Dassault Systemes and Bardo, will host the 3DEXPERIENCE Center Grand Opening. It will include live demonstrations in five labs across the 22,000 square foot innovation center, highlighting tools to accelerate product development, develop new materials and improve manufacturing and certification.
Dennis Alvord, U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Deputy Assistant Secretary for Regional Affairs, will also provide opening remarks.
EDA has invested $10 million to help bring the Innovation Campus to fruition. EDA investments include: $2 million to purchase equipment for the multi-robotic advanced manufacturing (MRAM) laboratory, $1 million for infrastructure to support development of the Experiential Engineering building, and $7 million to expanding commercialization networks, opening a community maker space, purchase equipment for advanced manufacturing demonstration facilities and establishing a national asset for high-intensity radiant fields (HIRF) design, testing, and analysis at the Aviation Support Complex.
